Meteora Sunset with Monastery & Hermit Caves Tour in Small Group - Meteora’s rock pillars and the setting of the tour

★★★★★★★★★★5.0 · 706 reviews · 4 hours (approx.) · from $36Our pick

Explore Meteora’s Saint Stephen Monastery, Byzantine church, hermit caves, and sunset viewpoints on a four-hour small-group tour.

“It helped us get oriented to the world of Meteora and gave us good information. It certainly made it convenient to see the sites. The guide was excellent. But it was way too long —- I understand that a “sunset tour” on June 17 will be late —- and I understand that the monastery closed at 5:00, so there’s not really any way around it. The stop at the Byzantine church in town was much much too long. I guess the ad should have been clearer about how long the tour actually was. We didn’t get back until 9:30. By then I didn’t care about Meteora at all anymore.”

“Loved the views, nature, all the stories Chris shared with us! My teenage daughter and I enjoyed every minute and every step of our tour. Some parts of the hike were intense for a mid-aged not in a great shape woman, but we stopped to rest and hear more stories or learn about plants and nature. Definitely worth the efforts! Highly recommend”

“This was a great tour. our guide, Clemens, was very passionate which made us more excited for everything. I whole heatedly recommend this tour. my only quibble would have either let us visit two monasteries instead of the church or let us decide which to do. the church was great, and I am glad we went there, but it was strange bc we booked a tour for Metorea and then we went into town to see the churches. That aside, this was great. You really get a sense of the history as well as the ability to see the monasteries, and there were a couple of photo ops that I…”
